The Eurasia Past and Present series publishes scholarship in multiple fields concerning Imperial Russia, the Soviet Union and its successor states, Central Asia, and the Caucasus. We seek empirically rich, methodologically innovative contributions to the study of the region and to the humanities, social sciences, and interdisciplinary conversations more broadly. Subjects of particular interest include power and politics; empire, ethnicity, and race; borderlands and transnational connections; gender and sexuality; the creation of new national mythologies and the rise of national movements; the ethnography of socialism and postsocialism, and projects that combine fieldwork, archival, and/or cultural historical methodologies.
