James Heinzen is Professor of history at Rowan University, where he teaches courses on Russian and European history. His research interests include Soviet kleptocracy, family history in Russia, and cultural history of Russia. He has written and published on corruption in the USSR, and is the author of Inventing a Socialist Countryside: State Power and the Transformation of Rural Russia, 1917-1929.
