W. W. Meissner, S.J., M.D., is University Professor of Psychoanalysis at Boston College and is a training and supervising analyst at the Boston Psychoanalytic Institute. Dr. Meissner has written many books and articles, including, from Yale University Press, Psychoanalysis and Religious Experience. In 1989 he received the Oskar Pfister Award of the American Psychiatric Association for his work in psychiatry and religion.
