eExam Copies
Many Yale University Press titles designed for classroom use are now available digitally on VitalSource free of charge. If you’re on the move, or if you need to make a fast decision, this is a quick and easy way to receive your exam copy.
To request an eExam copy: Eligible titles feature a request button on the book's page. If this is your first request, you will be prompted to set up a VitalSource account. Once your request has been submitted and approved, you will receive a link for accessing the text online. (Note: email notifications sometimes land in spam mailboxes—please be sure to check yours.)

Print Exam/Desk Copies
Books priced at $45 or under are available for examination at the Press's discretion. There is no need to return the book to us after examining. Limit: 3 books/year
If you have already adopted one of our titles for course use, we are happy to provide you a desk copy free of charge. One complimentary copy will be provided for every ten books ordered.
To request a print exam/desk copy: Eligible titles feature a request button on the book's page. Complete the request form to submit your request. You must have an instructor or administrator account in order to make a requests. If you do not have an instructor account you will be prompted to create one.
Note: If you are not an instructor but are a departmental aide making a request on behalf of a member of your faculty, you should create an office administrator account type to make requests on behalf of other faculty.
If you are interested in a title that does not have a request button on its book page, please email marketing@yale.edu.
Locating Request Buttons
If a title is eligible for examination in either digital or print format, buttons will be present under the jacket image and purchasing links on the book's page as illustrated below. Please note that you cannot locate or access these buttons from search result pages.
Account Registration
We allow instructors and office administrators to request examination and desk copies. To register a new course book account go here. Select the appropriate account type and complete the registration process to create an account.
