Learning Chinese teaches basic conversational and literary skills in Mandarin. Julian K. Wheatley is visiting associate professor of Chinese at the National Institute of Education at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He was previously senior lecturer in Foreign Languages and Literatures at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and director of the MIT China Program.
